28 Years of Heart & Heritage: The Peters’ Legacy

Author: Gabrielle Grace

At Printique, craftsmanship isn’t just about the products we make—it’s about the people behind them. Few stories reflect that more clearly than the legacy of John and Jack Peters, a father-and-son duo whose combined careers span a quarter of a century to professional photo printing.

The Beginning

Printique started as a small one-hour photo lab called AdoramaPix.  The name came from its parent store, Adorama. Because of its quality and craftsmanship, word got out and it quickly outgrew its small shop. That’s where John Peters came into the picture.

John Peters began his journey with AdoramaPix as a salesman, building trusted relationships with photographers who relied on quality, consistency, and personal service. When Printique was founded, John was one of the original eight team members who helped bring the brand to life. His belief in premium materials, archival standards, and doing right by customers helped shape the foundation of what Printique stands for today.

Family Ties

John, would often bring along his son Jack, who was in his teens, to the lab in Manhattan. It was there Jack would start helping where he could, such as assembling holiday cards with photos. It wasn’t long though, when AdoramaPix outgrew its Manhattan location.

In 2013, Printique moved to its current state-of-the art lab based in Park Slope, Brooklyn. It is here where Jack would officially join his father and work full time at Printique within the card and calendar department. For Jack, Printique isn’t just a workplace—it’s a family tradition. Inspired by his father’s “wonderful musings” about the daily experience here, Jack started to work along side his father. They worked together for 9 years, before John retired. All together, John worked 15 years for the company and currently, Jack has worked 13 years for Printique – that’s 28 years.

What Keeps Jack Inspired?

Beyond the heritage, Jack stays for the “family environment fostered by management.” That sense of belonging is exactly what he passes on to you. Whether he’s discovering that a new customer is actually his next-door neighbor or going “above and beyond” to help a customer with an urgent shipping request. Jack’s mission is to ensure you feel supported by a trusted photo printing partner. As one customer recently noted: “Jack provided the utmost professional and helpful customer service I’ve had in a very long time… I can’t thank him enough.”

Jack’s Pro-Pick: The Metal Print

During Jack’s time at Printique, he’s seen the product lineup grow in exciting ways—from the introduction of albums to metal, glass, acrylic, wood, and fine art prints, plus photo tiles and more. When we asked Jack to pick a favorite, he didn’t hesitate for a second: Metal Prints with the glossy, white finish.

“Having worked in that department for two years in a quality inspection role, I came to value the vibrancy that metal prints provide, it can be simply breathtaking and it’s like no other product we offer.”

The Transition to Customer Success Advisor

After Covid, Jack moved into helping the customer service department because of his knowledge of the print products and his helpful demeanor. This is where he excels. A quick glimpse at Printique’s Google Review page and you’ll see his name mentioned over 200 times.

Absolutely amazing customer service! If every company has a “Jack Peters” the world would be a better place. atlantasean

A quick note to express my appreciation for Jack Peters’ service in helping me. Jack was extremely helpful and veryprofessional throughout our discussion which lasted quite a while. He explored a variety of options and found the best. I couldn’t be happier with Printique’s service and Jack’s help in particular. In my experience it isn’t often that a large company provides the level of concern and expertise that Mr. Peters has.Props to Jack! Regards, raf – Cem Ventures, Ltd.

And, as you can imagine, his father’s clients, started to ask.. specifically for Jack.

I want to express my thanks to John Peters and his son Jack Peters for their unwavering support and reliability with my orders over the years—it’s meant the world to me. I’m especially grateful for how seamlessly Jack has taken over once John retired. The same trust and dedication continue, and it’s clear the values John instilled in Jack have been passed down and remain strong. –Reuven Gamzeh.

A Vision for the Future of Archival Printing

Together, John and Jack represent what makes Printique special: real people who care deeply about the work they do and the memories they help preserve. Their story is a reminder that when you choose Printique, you’re not just ordering a product—you’re working with a team that treats your photos like they matter. To Jack, printing digital photos isn’t just a hobby—it’s a responsibility. “Digital is for the moment,” he says, “but archival print is what preserves a life across generations. It’s how great-grandchildren will know what you looked like when you laughed.”

A special thank you to the Peters family for all that they have done, and continue to do here at Printique.
